Chuck has dedicated his entire legal career to the defense of landowners, tenants and business owners in eminent domain, inverse condemnation and other property rights matters throughout Florida.  Chuck has worked on hundreds of these matters, gaining experience representing owners of all kinds of property and business interests against various types of condemning authorities, ranging from state and local government agencies to private utilities and gas companies with the power of eminent domain.

Background

Chuck was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, before attending Elon University in North Carolina, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in political science.  Chuck then attended Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, graduating with honors as a member of the Moot Court Honor Board.  While attending law school, Chuck spent two years as a clerk for Manny Papalas, learning the ins and outs of eminent domain and condemnation law before being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2013 and continuing to fight for his clients’ property rights as an attorney.

Chuck serves as an Ex-Officio Board Member on the Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Board of Governors, as well as on the Alumni Board of Directors for Florida Coastal School of Law.  This year, Chuck was also accepted into the inaugural 2019 class of the Urban Land Institute North Florida Center for Leadership, a program designed to provide hands-on real estate training that includes advanced leadership training, inside knowledge of successes in regional real estate, and a unique opportunity to help mold the future of our region.  Among other achievements during his legal career, Chuck was recently named one of the “First Coast’s 2017 Top 10 Attorneys Under 40” by Attorney at Law Magazine.

Chuck and his wife, Lauren, have resided in Jacksonville since 2010, where there are raising their two young daughters, Ginny and Maggie.
